The challenge
Embracing the needs of a global audience
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) faced a challenge: they wanted to secure participation in the opening of their new innovation centre at a time when gathering many people in the same space was not possible.
Recognising the need for a solution that supported global participation in the opening and could be reused for various corporate functions afterwards, AFI led a proactive strategy to address these requirements.
The solution
A virtual platform and a digital twin
AFI briefed us on their challenge and the solution they wished for. Together, we developed a virtual platform that mirrored the planned physical structure of the innovation centre, creating a digital twin of the yet-to-be-completed facility.
This platform featured green-screened welcome speeches by AFI executives, live chats, and virtual showcases of the future facilities, effectively turning construction zones into engaging digital environments. Designed to host interactive content and a countdown to the grand opening, the platform was a crucial tool in maintaining engagement from remote locations.
The value
Ongoing success
The virtual launch succeeded, leading to subsequent uses of the platform for internal seminars and branding opportunities. As the physical centre came to completion, the virtual platform adapted to include visuals and features of the finished site, enhancing the experience for internal and external stakeholders.
AFI's approach to the many possible uses of the platform not only responded to immediate pandemic-related challenges but also solidified the platform’s role in AFI’s ongoing digital strategy.
The perspective
Expanding the platform's versatility and reach
The platform's design allows for continuous reconfiguration and reuse, catering to different departments and functions within AFI. This ongoing adaptability highlights its value as a sustainable investment that enhances global interaction and departmental integration, proving indispensable for AFI’s diverse and dynamic communication needs.
