At Cadpeople, we believe that being a responsible company extends beyond our offices. It’s about recognising the role companies can play in contributing to the world around us in meaningful ways.
This year, we will focus on supporting Ukraine, where the war has devastated communities but also brought out incredible resilience and ingenuity.
In Chortkiv, a small city with big aspirations for renewable energy, we donated a 10-kilowatt inverter to support their local energy grid. This inverter, set to power a school and kindergarten, is part of the city’s ambitious plan to run entirely on renewable energy by 2050. Their existing grid already integrates solar and wind power, making Chortkiv a pioneer among small Ukrainian cities.
Getting the inverter to Chortkiv wasn’t straightforward: from blocked bank accounts to logistical hurdles, it required determination and partnerships. But seeing the impact it will have makes it all worth it.
We’re also exploring ways to deepen our impact. For instance, the city could benefit from a flow battery, a technology that would enable them to store and distribute renewable energy more effectively. The cost is significant – around 330,000 DKK for a solution that could help power the city. But it’s a project we’re eager to explore with interested partners.
Beyond Ukraine, we’ve contributed financially to support communities in Gaza and Syria. These initiatives are part of a broader effort to build a program where we as a company take responsibility for our society. We’re learning as we go – some projects work, some don’t, but each step teaches us how to do better.
These early steps make us optimistic about what lies ahead. As companies, we share a social responsibility to help where we can, and we'd love to hear your ideas for impactful projects.
