The challenge
Explaining Hyndla’s EPIC role in offshore wind foundations
Hyndla plays a critical role in the offshore wind industry, delivering low-voltage electrical and mechanical engineering solutions for wind turbine foundations. Their unique expertise spans the entire EPIC value chain: Engineering, Procurement, Installation, and Commissioning. However, explaining such a specialised and technical business to potential clients is no small feat.
The challenge was clear: how do you demonstrate the value of Hyndla’s essential services in a way that is engaging and easy to understand while staying true to their technical precision?
The solution
An interactive platform tailored to EPIC
To help Hyndla showcase their offerings, we designed a virtual platform that mirrors their work in the EPIC value chain. At its core is an interactive 3D model that reveals the intricacies of Hyndla’s services.
The platform is built to follow the EPIC structure:
Engineering
Hyndla combines expertise in 3D modelling, FEM analysis, and electrical and mechanical interfacing to deliver flexible, supplier-neutral design packages for offshore wind. Their approach optimises design processes, material selection, and documentation to ensure seamless integration of low-voltage components into wind turbine foundations.
Procurement
The platform highlights Hyndla's procurement expertise by enabling local sourcing through open-source designs, reducing CO2 emissions, shipping times, and interface management challenges while supporting competition and local content.
Installation
Users can explore how Hyndla ensures efficient, cost-effective installation by delivering ready-to-fit components that require no on-site modifications. Whether supporting local partners or managing the installation directly, Hyndla keeps projects on schedule with precision and reliability.
Commissioning
Finally, the model showcases Hyndla’s role in ensuring every component functions perfectly before handover.
This structure isn’t just a storytelling framework - it’s a technical map aligning with clients' evaluation of suppliers. Combining text, video, and visuals allows the platform to communicate complex processes straightforwardly.

The value
From exhibition tool to everyday use
Initially developed for Wind Energy Hamburg 2024, the platform became a hit with attendees and stakeholders alike.
But its value didn’t end at the exhibition. Hyndla’s team now uses the platform to:
- Train new employees on the EPIC process, ensuring consistency across the company.
- Share technical insights with partners, helping them understand how Hyndla’s expertise fits into broader offshore wind projects.
- Demonstrate their capabilities to potential clients, speeding up decision-making processes.
The exhibition went really well, and the platform was very intuitive to use – we received very positive feedback on it.

The perspective
Scalable, adaptable, and always up to date
Hyndla has full control over the backend, allowing them to update the content as their processes evolve or as new projects come online. Whether they’re adding a new layer to their EPIC framework or refining existing processes, the platform keeps their communication aligned with the realities of their business.
Additionally, the tool is designed with scalability in mind, enabling future development should Hyndla choose to expand their expertise or introduce new functionalities.
